Greetland Goldstars JFC

The Greetland U6’s had their first outing this weekend at the Crossleys tournament. Despite only having three training sessions behind them the boys produced some good performances and really enjoyed a day of total football. It was a shame that the weather was not the best but the boys didn’t let that stop them scoring a hatful of goals, putting in some great tackles and the goalkeepers making some fine saves. Teams at the tournament included St. Columba’s, Halifax Irish, Northowram, Crossleys and ourselves. Playing four games in total the boys scored a magnificent 9 goals, including two hat-tricks for Will C and a first game double for Jacob S. In defence Will W, Anthony H and Martyn D stopped numerous attacks to protect our goal and helped to keep our 2 clean sheets. Whilst Taylor L and Joe C produced some nice football to set up our attacks (usually finished by Will C). The U6’s now move on to a football festival with Warley where they can continue their development as a team, get used to all the rules of the game and have loads of fun playing the beautiful game.
