Joining Our Club

Greetland Goldstars are always looking for new players in all age groups. We currently have 18 teams across 10 age groups from Under 7's to Under 16's, as well as an Under 12 and Under 13 Girls teams. Greetland Goldstars are one of only 4 clubs in Calderdale to have achieved the FA Charter Standard Development Club Status and one of only 26 in the West Riding. As a Club we take great pride in having gained this prestigious award.

Club Mark

We are also a Clubmark accredited club. Clubmark is a cross-sport quality accreditation for clubs with junior sections. According to research conducted by the Northwest Regional Development Agency in 2004, three fifths (60.5%) of young people belong to a sports club outside school. It is vital that these clubs serve young people well. Sports clubs that work with children and young people need and deserve support to improve the quality of work they do so that we can:

  • Ensure the well-being of young people whilst in the care of adults, other than their legal parent(s)/carer(s).
  • Enthuse young people to enjoy sport and active recreation to build a healthy and active lifestyle.
  • Enable young people to use their leisure time creatively.
  • Allow young people to optimise their talents and personal ability.
Identify and support the development of the most talented young people.

National governing bodies of sport award Clubmark to proven high quality clubs. The national scheme has been in place since 2002 and there are now over 2,000 accredited clubs across over 20 sports.

All the managers and parent helpers are CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) checked as laid down by FA guidelines.

"The FA believes that football should be safe and enjoyable for all children and has introduced Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) checks to help in this process."

These are checks on peoples history to ensure they have no convictions which might make them unsafe to work with children. We have a designated Child Protection Contact in Steve Dean, a Child Protection policy and Code of Conduct, for Players, Managers and Parents to ensure the safety of all children within the Club.

If you would like to join our club, please email us requesting a registration form or training times.
